The downtime is minimal compared to a surgical procedure, making it a popular “lunchtime lift”. The only downtime is social with some potential swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the site. Some patients may see some puckering at the insertion points .You can usually return to light daily activities right away, but plan for some downtime if bruising occurs.

For the first 24 hours, we recommend applying cold compresses lightly for 10-15 minutes per hour to reduce any swelling and bruising. Avoid firm pressure. We also recommend sleeping only on your back, strictly avoiding touching or rubbing the treated areas, and avoiding makeup. It is also recommended to stay hydrated and limit extreme facial expressions, yawning, or heavy chewing as the thread is most fragile at this time and has the potential to snap.
